It was summer again and the sun shone,
We’d mount the tandem and ride.
We always took the same route,
By my teacher’s house, across from the horses.
I don’t think I ever pedaled,
I just rode and she worked.
The hills were the best part,
“Look mom no hands!”
My legs were too short to reach,
The pedals which rapidly spun beneath.
Oh what a wonderful ride,
On tandems, sunny days, and memories.
